What DYSPTCH does

Real production. Real evidence. Real grades.

Newsroom desk

Pitch, assign, and route stories through copy, art, and editor-in-chief approval gates.

Defensible grades

Rubric scores + peer and leadership evaluations fold into a recommended grade — teacher override always available.

Activities calendar

Public event feed for staff, subscribable by .ics for Google, Outlook, and Apple.

Content catcher

Photographers and reporters claim events and drop deliverables where editors expect them.

SkillTrei badge gating

Require verified Mass Media badges before students can be assigned photographer, reporter, or editor roles.

Gradebook export

Per-student, per-assignment scores by class, issue, or timeframe — CSV ready for your SIS.

Built for scholastic media

One tool. Every seat in the newsroom.

Advisers & program directors

Stop grading vibes. Stand behind every score with a paper trail from pitch to publish.

Editors in chief & section editors

Route work through approval gates and get credit for the leadership you actually provided.

Reporters, photographers, designers

See exactly what's expected, submit deliverables, and reflect on your own work.

District administrators

Role-based access, verified skill prerequisites, and equitable grade documentation.

Works with SkillTrei

Verified skills unlock real assignments.

DYSPTCH reads SkillTrei Mass Media badges from a student's wallet key and gates production roles behind them. Require a Photojournalism Level 2 badge before a student shoots a football game. Require an Interviewing badge before assigning a feature reporter. Leadership can override with a documented reason — but the requirement stays visible.

  • Students paste one wallet key to sync their earned Mass Media badges.
  • Advisers set which badges are required per role, per program.
  • DYSPTCH is one of a growing family of tools anchored by SkillTrei.

The SkillTrei family

Plays well with the tools your program already runs.

SkillTrei

Badge-gated roles pulled from a student's verified Mass Media wallet.

ReadyCue

Push assignments to a class broadcast rundown — segment status stays in sync.

Loadout

Reserve the right camera or audio kit the moment an assignment is created.

SIS export

CSV gradebook export that drops straight into your school's gradebook.

Common questions

Answers before you ask.

Does DYSPTCH replace our gradebook?+

No — DYSPTCH generates a defensible recommended grade with full evidence, then exports to CSV that drops into your existing SIS gradebook.

What if a teacher disagrees with a recommended grade?+

Every recommendation has a teacher override. The rubric evidence, peer scores, and leadership evaluations all stay attached for documentation.

Do students need a SkillTrei account?+

Only if you want badge-gated role assignments. Students paste one wallet key to sync earned Mass Media badges. Programs can also run without gating.

Can we pilot with one class first?+

Yes — that's the recommended path. We set up one class, one rubric, one issue cycle, and prove the grades hold up before scaling.
